I don't know what happened to me. Puberty must have made me ugly. Or, my mom was so great at taking care of my hair. I used to have luscious long hair that was so silky and smooth ever since I was a child. But as I grew older, I'm not sure what happened, it just got drier and drier each day. My mom always commented on it being like dry grass. The straightening, dye-ing, bleaching and highlighting probably did not help hahaha. But just recently, I chopped off all the split ends and curled my hair. So, I wanted to make sure it looks good and went to do some research online. When you are searching on hair care for curly hair, you will stumble upon the curly girl method. It is raved to be so good and amazing. the pictures really do prove that as well. So, I was very excited to start trying their method.
It has now been 6 months since I more or less follow the method as best as I could. Being in Malaysia, most of the products recommended and listed are not available here and if it is, is much expensive as they are being imported in. It does help though that the website list the few ingredients to look out for and to avoid. The amount of dedication put into the compilation of the method amazed me. It is a 65 pages google doc with outlines on all the subtopic so that you can easily go to the part you want to learn about or need refreshing. They even made an infographic poster for those who are lazy to read.
First step is to reset which means to clear off all the junk and product that is currently in your hair. You don't have to do this all the time. Maybe in 1 month-ish depending on your hair condition. They have specific shampoos to use but I didn't really follow this and just skip this step and went ahead to the real step 1.
"Real" step 1 is to co-wash your hair which means to use conditioner instead of shampoo to wash. Then step 2 is to conditioned your hair and the lastly to add some gel and to either let it air dry or scrunch the crunch.
My review on this method is it is much difficult to not be able to wash your hair with shampoo as the weather here is so humid and I get sweaty often and my hair is always so oily. I did try just using conditioner to wash it, but you have to be very careful to make sure that most of the conditioner is out of your scalp or it will still look oily after you dry it or in 1 day time. Hence, I always wash with a shampoo every 3 days. In between, I will either use conditioner or just with water. Instead of gel which I did not want to spend extra money on, I used wax that I had from my time when I had a boy cut and style my hair with it. The scrunch the crunch method really work and it does help make your hair less frizzy while making the curls defined but it might take some getting use to as you will feel that your hair is a little dirty.
All in all, my hair really does seem less dry and the curls are sometimes amazing, sometimes not but I'm very comfortable with the method and would recommend you to give it a try and twerk it based on what works on you.
I'll add the link here for convenience if you want to give it a go.

Elianto's Nail Polish
Hey fwiends, today I will be writing about the Elianto Basic Nail Lacquer. I bought mine in 2018 at Sunway Pyramid and has been using it for quite some time now.
So, a brief introduction on the brand itself. Elianto is a local Malaysian makeup brand that is founded in 2005. They offer makeup, skincare and nail polish products. Besides that, they also have their own fragrance line and makeup tools. That being said, the nail polish that I got was produced in Korea.
It comes in a wide range of colours that are all really nice and beautiful. It gives me more choices to choose from as I have a medium skin tone and certain colours do not suit me. The price of this nail polish is RM13.90 but often have sales. I got mine at a price of RM5 each. However, one of the catch is that you have to get 4 to be able to get the promotional price. The colour I got was Salmon (B208) and Sky Blue (B438). Both have 12ml.

One of the things that I didn't like about this nail polish is that you have to paint a few layers for the colour to be opaque as one layer looks very sheer. It also causes the painted nails to be streaky even when I use a base coat.
The brush of the nail polish is of a perfect size. It has a smaller width which makes it easier to paint the sides of your nails if you have curved nails but wide enough that you don't need to paint too many times to cover the entire nail. Besides, this nail polish does not dry up easily or clump up as fast as other nail polish. I have it for over a year now and it is still very smooth and watery.
Conclusion:
A broke student who loves painting your nails? Yasss, get it during their sales as it is extremely cheap. However, the end result of the painted nails is not really very smooth but the colours are oh so pretty.

Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY)
MUFY is a one year foundation program by Monash University to prepare and familiarize students with the style of teaching and the way students are evaluated in Monash University. It is also easier to enter the university by doing their foundation program as the entree requirement marks are lower compared to other pre-u programs. After finishing your foundation, your application fee to Monash University is waiver. The process to apply is much easier as the administrative handles most of the stuff. They will also inform you the things you have to do. If you are sure you want to enter Monash University, I highly recommend you to do their foundation program. However, even if you have not decided which university to go to, you can still take their program as it is widely accepted in most universities in Malaysia and Australia. However, please check with your desired university whether they do accept the program. Better safe than sorry.
In Malaysia, MUFY is offered in Sunway College Kuala Lumpur and Sunway College Johor Bahru. MUFY is a two semester program (if you don't fail or manage to obtain the results that you want). There are three intakes for the standard program (4 units each semester) which are in January, March and July while only one intake for the intensive program ( 3 units in the first semester and 5 units in the second semester) which is in July. You can choose the subjects that you want either all Science or all Arts or a mixture of both. However, some subjects have prerequisite you have to comply to. English Unit 1 and 2 is compulsory for all students. The subjects offered are:
Another good advantage of being in MUFY is that you can choose your own timetable based on your own preference. The earliest class is at 8.30am and the last class is at 2.45 p.m. Each class is 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
Sunway College offers a variety of scholarship to students not only to those who perform well academically but also those who are good at sports or even music. Click here for more info
Currently, evaluation is based 70% of coursework (small test, lab reports, assignments, presentation, etc) and 30% examination. The structure of the exam change very often so it may not be correct at the time you are reading this article. You will have test nearly every week or group assignments to complete.
